LOS ANGELES, September 19, 2022 — HOT NOIZE, an art curation group founded by Marco Liu and James Tseng, announced today that they are producing a one night only showcase of Asian and Asian American art in LA’s Historic Filipinotown neighborhood: Future Nostalgia, to be held at The Robinson S.P.A.C.E. (104 Robinson Street, Los Angeles, CA) on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The first of HOT NOIZE’s art exhibitions since 2019, Future Nostalgia will feature 1-of-1 physical and digital art pieces created by 16 different artists of Asian-descent. Future Nostalgia celebrates the boundless energy and creativity of Asian and Asian American artists in Los Angeles, demonstrating the diversity of the Asian creative community through physical and digital art, as well as innovation in music, food and beverage, and culture.

According to Marco Liu, “Southern California is the preeminent hub for Asian American creative life in the United States so we wanted to empower and amplify some of the amazing artists we have encountered over the years, while also exploring new possibilities provided by the Web3 space.”

“As someone born in Taiwan who moved to America as a teenager, I always thought that there was a gap in understanding between Asians and Asian Americans. Future Nostalgia is an opportunity to bridge the gap and find common ground through art,” said James Tseng.

In addition to art produced by the 16 different artists, Future Nostalgia will feature a lineup of 5 DJs throughout the evening. The headlining performer is Julienne By (https://www.twitch.tv/julienneby), a popular DJ on Twitch, who has performed at EDC Las Vegas and will be playing at the Lost In Dreams Festival by Insomniac at the end of September. There will also be sponsored beverages from select brands such as Sanzo Sparkling Water, Drunk Fruit, Topo Chico, and Remy Martin, a pop-up bar by Taiwanese tiki bar owner and bartender Will Fahn, as well as select food vendors from across the local Southern California restaurant scene.

Tickets are available at https://futurenostalgia.eventbrite.com

The event is $15 pre-sale online and $20 at the door. Besides showcasing physical art pieces and digital art in the form of NFTs, Future Nostalgia seeks to educate the broader Southern California community about Web3 and the potential blockchain technology has to transform how art is created and enjoyed. Guests are invited to come to the event to not only admire the art, but to meet the artists themselves, with the opportunity to purchase both physical and digital works for their own collections.

Future Nostalgia is presented in partnership with DigiArt, with ticketing support from Legaci.
